35, 35, 33?

Hey everybody. I have something exciting for y'all this week. My 35th birthday is this Friday so I am going to post every day from now until then so that I will hit my 35th post on my birthday. Plus I have 33 followers (that's close enough to 35, right?). The prize for all of you? A chance to win a $35 gift card to either Amazon or Barnes & Noble. You will be able to enter until midnight Thursday, October 11. I will announce the winner on Friday.

What do you have to do to win? Fill out the Rafflecopter and then leave a comment on this post and answer one of these questions. (If Rafflecopter doesn't work for you mention it in your comment and I will enter you manually)
  • What is your favorite book of all time?
  • What is your favorite recent read?
  • What are you currently reading? Do you recommend it?
You can spread the word about this contest too but it won't get  you any extra entries because that's just how I roll.

  1. I'm going to skip the "favorite book of all time" question. To me, that would involve lists and charts and graphs and careful consideration. My favorite recent read is THE CADET OF TILDOR, an ARC I read that won't be out until January. I'm currently reading SAVE THE CAT, and would definitely recommend it!

    1. Yes, favorite of all time is definitely hard. I have at least 5 different books that pop into my head when I think of that. I will have to look out foor THE CADET OF TILDOR in January. SAVE THE CAT saved my life. Okay, not really my life, but my sanity.

  2. I'm currently reading INCARNATE by Jodi Meadows and am enjoying it. The best book I've read recently? Hmmm, that would maybe be EDENBROOKE.

    1. Okay, I will have to check out INCARNATE. Oh, my. What a good choice with EDENBROOKE! Love it! It makes me use many exclamation points! It makes me daydream for hours just thinking about it again.

Not entering, but favorite book is Sword of Shannara, best recent read was Nancy Thompson's upcoming The Mistaken, and currently reading Roland Yeomans' Legend of Victor Standish - and yes, I recommend it.

    1. Part of why I am doing this contest is to broaden my reading horizons. It is a good thing too because I had not even heard of a single book you mentioned. :) Off to do some Google-ing (Googling?).

  4. I have many favorite books of all time, but the one I just finished today is City of Fallen Angels in the Mortal Instruments series. I'm actually surprised at how much I'm enjoying the whole series. I like it a lot. There has been a casting error in the upcoming movie that you and I should discuss, though (because I know you'll understand and sympathize.)

    P.S. I love themey giveaways!

    1. I actually own City of Fallen Angels and the other books in the series but I haven't read them and they are in storage in Texas. I will have to read them as soon as they are unpacked. I can't wait to discuss the casting with you. Do people who cast movies not understand what a hot guy looks like? I can give them examples. I have all their pictures on my computer. LOL

  7. Happy Birthday! The favorite book one is so hard, becasue I really love so many stories but if I was forced to pick I would say Harry Potter, I can read it again and again and it never gets old! Recently, as you saw on my blog, I read Mistborn and it was beyond excellent! Right now I'm reading Feedback the sequel to Variant and it is gripping. Great questions :)

    1. Thanks Jennie! I loved Harry Potter, too. Can you believe that I only read it for the first time about 3 years ago when I was laid up with a broken ankle. I will add Mistborn to my TBR and Feedback is the next on my TBR list.
